Twenty eight species of ants have been found in 17 localities of ibiza and Formentera. Ant communities appear to be relatively homogeneous throughout both islands. Messor bouvieri and Plagiolepis schmitzii are well represented. Camponotus lateralis has only been found in one locality and it is apparently largely replaced by C. sicheli in both islands. Tapinoma simrothi, T. ambiguum, Aphaenogaster iberica, Pheidole teneriffana and Colobopsis truncatus are new records for both islands.Se estudian las comunidades mirmecológicas de 17 localidades de ibiza y Formentera, viendose la gran homogeneidad de su distribución.
