In this contribution, we propose a fully passive antennas-based carpet cloak inspired by Van Atta array configuration for retroreflectors. We consider an electrically large triangular bump over a ground plane, whose sides are covered by two arrays of conventional half-wavelength dipoles. When illuminated by a plane wave, the energy is captured by the first array and transmitted beyond the obstacle by the second one. The VanAtta-inspired connection ensures the restoration of the reflection angle as if the bump were not present, mimicking the ground reflection. The proposed solution is able to overcome the intrinsic narrow frequency and angular bandwidths of conventional carpet cloaks based on metasurfaces. The performances have been numerica...
