Summary of proceedings of the Third Meeting of the CGIAR, held at the World Bank in Washington, DC on November 1 and 2, 1972, chaired by Richard H. Demuth. The Chairman announced that Australia had accepted full membership in the CGIAR.TAC recommendations concerning the research programs and proposed budgets of the six existing centers were approved. TAC proposed the establishment of an international network of plant genetic resources led by a coordinating committee to be based at FAO headquarters in Rome, and served by a system of regional germplasm collection centers.
