The Durban Statement

Statement issued at the 2001 CGIAR Mid Term Meeting by representatives of the Sub Saharan African agricultural research and development community proclaiming their commitment to the goals of the African Vision for agricultural research for year 2020, and acknowledging the emerging challenges that must be overcome to achieve those goals. The declaration identifies aspects of policy environments, institutional development, and types of research partnerships and technology development and transfer systems that will enable the purposeful pursuit of African development objectives
