IPALAC newsletter is produced by the International Program for Arid Land Crops, whose goal is to promote the use of plant species that are adapted to semi-arid lands for rural development in the world's dry lands. The January 1997 issue of the newsletter reports on workshops held on domestication of plants for arid lands, on collaborative technology development of improved diguettes and on future activities and publications of interest.
