The recent surge of interest and investment by small farmers in beekeeping and honey production reflects growing understanding of the various uses of honey, and increased demand from local and international markets. This set of papers from a 1995 conference, organised by the Netherlands Expertise Centre for Tropical Apicultural Resources (NECTAR), provides a timely overview of various harvesting techniques, quality control methods, medicinal properties and traditions, and marketing aspects for tropical honeys.
