For three years the European Commission published an information bulletin on fisheries with the cooperation of leaders of fishing and aquaculture projects and with the help of its readers. Its obvious success - gauged by the enormous growth in its readership - was in no small way due to the energy and enthusiasm of its founder, Cornelia Nauen, the principal secretary responsible for fisheries. But alongside growth came production and financial difficulties. The European Commission and CTA, whose mandate is to disseminate technical information, decided to pool their energies and expertise, and as a result the bulletin has become a more professional publication.
