Development Journal

In February 1990 the first issue of Development Journal was published. This is an independent publication covering development assistance to the Third World. The magazine which is glossv, A4, 48-page and printed in full colour, is {he product of cooperation between bilateral and multilateral donors, development banks, research institutes, NGOs, consultants and the developing countries themselves. It aims to serve all these sectors. The purpose of the publication is to help raise the quality and effectiveness of aid by passing on project experience and by serving as a platform from which development professionals can suggest improvements and initiatives. The contents of the launch issue of this quarterly include a discussion of the restructuring of GATE and GTZ an article on weaning food and an item about reforestation along the White Nile. Other sections are devoted to development news, disease control (onchocerciasis), and information access.
