Talk of research study. The Anthropization of the Uplands during Late Prehistory: Landscape Archaeology in the Cantabrian Mountains (North of Spain)

[ES] La Arqueología del Paisaje constituye un punto de partida propicio para realizar lecturas diacrónicas sobre la genealogía de los paisajes culturales en zonas altimontanas como el segmento asturleonés de la Cordillera Cantábrica. A la luz de los datos obtenidos en un trabajo desarrollado a diferentes escalas territoriales, se reflexiona acerca de las experiencias humanas y los procesos históricos que mediaron en la construcción social de los paisajes culturales por parte de las comunidades de la Prehistoria reciente. Los resultados obtenidos en las excavaciones desarrolladas en los últimos años en el entorno de la aldea de Vigaña (Miranda, Asturias) son el principal soporte arqueográfico para esta investigación. La discusión parte del análisis de las pautas de poblamiento y los modos de subsistencia desplegados por los grupos humanos que poblaron estas montañas entre la adopción de la agricultura y la ganadería, y la conquista romana. La biografía de los paisajes culturales en este amplio período parte de la lectura social de los datos arqueológicos en combinación con una interpretación cultural de las secuencias paleoambientales disponibles para el área de estudio.[EN] The landscape archaeology is a starting point to carry out diachronic readings on the genealogy of the cultural landscapes in areas like the Cantabrian Mountains (North of Spain). In light of the data obtained in a work developed at different territorial scales, it reflects on the human experiences and the historical processes that mediated in the social construction of the cultural landscapes by the communities of the Late Prehistory. The results obtained in the excavations developed in recent years in the surroundings of the village of Vigaña (Miranda, Asturias) are the main support for this research. The discussion is part of the analysis of the patterns of settlement and the modes of subsistence deployed by the human groups that populated these mountains between the adoption of agriculture and livestock, and the Roman conquest. The biography of the cultural landscapes in this broad period part of the social reading of the archaeological data in combination with a cultural interpretation of the paleoenvironmental sequences available for the study area.N
