This paper focuses on the depiction of Italy and Italians in works of British authors of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The first part provides information about changing attitudes to Italy and Italians in British literature throughout history. The second part analyses Italian characters in works of Wilkie Collins and E.M. Forster.
