Vulnerabilities, socionatural threats and water companies: an approach to political conflicts around the monopoly of water resources in Valparaiso, 1845-1906

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo el análisis de las relaciones entre el recurso hídrico, su monopolio y la vulnerabilidad establecidas por los publicistas de la época en la ciudad de Valparaíso (Chile), así como la vinculación de estas variables con la presencia de amenazas socionaturales. El marco temporal inicia con el primer proyecto de abastecimiento de agua a Valparaíso desde el Río Aconcagua en 1845 y culmina con el terremoto de 1906.The present research aims to analyzing the relationships between water resources, their monopoly and the vulnerability established by the publicists of the time in the city of Valparaíso (Chile), as well as the linkage of these variables with the presence of social and natural threats.
