Objective: Chronic non-communicable diseases, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, have become global major health problems. In the United Republic of Tanzania, previous studies showed diabetes prevalences ranging from 0.6% to 5.8% and of pre-diabetes, from 9.1% to 10.6%.
