DoctorGlobal swine production has increased more than 3.5-fold during the past 40 years. Associated with these increased swine herds are large quantities of swine manure. The anaerobic digestion process is a biological treatment method that is widely used to treat wastewater containing highly concentrated organic compounds such as swine wastewater. In this study, I demonstrated links between reactor operating conditions, physical and chemical performance parameters, and microbial population dynamics.
