In this paper the author investigates the structure and genesis of Polish text in poetry works by Boris Slutsky whose writing career was unfolding during the Soviet era and was deeply influenced by censorship and communistic ideology. The expression of views different from the official policy was extremely difficult at this period; moreover, some topics and motives (such as relationship between the Soviet Union and Poland) were determined and controlled in a particular manner. Consequently, the creative manner of Boris Slutsky in verses about Poland was featured with cryptic character. The poet sympathized to Polish people and the tragic history of the country, but could not publish some creative works without censors...
