To struggle against social exclusion (imprecise concept that we are trying to define in this research), financial links (i.e. monetary tie between creditor and debtor) can be used as social links. In the one hand, an income can be seen as a social aid that stigmatises poor people. In the other, it is a tool to help people create their own jobs. The starting point of our work is to watch how, in France and especially in Rhône-Alpes, some organizations give loans to unemployed people to help them create their enterprise. What is called « microcredit » in international development programs is known in France as « finance solidaire ». In this case, creditors are not looking for benefits.
