Dementia is a complex neurodegenerative syndrome that by 2050 could affect about 135 Million people worldwide. People with dementia experience a progressive decline in their cognitive abilities and have serious problems coping with activities of daily living, including orientation and wayfinding tasks. They even experience difficulties in finding their way in a familiar environment. Being lost or fear of getting lost may consequently develop into other psychological deficits such as anxiety, suspicions, illusions, and aggression.
