The aim of this work is the development of a 3D numerical model of the foot that allows evaluating the influence of degenerative phenomena on the foot mechanical functionality. Such degenerative phenomena induce histo-morphological alterations and significant modification of the plantar soft tissue mechanical properties, as stiffening and lower damping capabilities. The finite element model of the foot is developed starting from the analysis of biomedical images. Different constitutive models define the mechanical response of the biological tissues.
