ArtículosLos peces fueron uno de los muchos grupos zoológicos explotados por las antiguas sociedades humanas de México. La ocurrencia de estos animales está documentada en 82 sitios arqueológicos mexicanos, a través de restos como dientes, espinas caudales y vértebras. Los restos pertenecen a al menos 145 especies de 59 familias. Los peces fueron usados con fines religiosos-ceremoniales, alimentarios, ornamentales y bélicos, además del comercio, tributo y otros tipos de intercambio con la finalidad de llevarlos a sitios interiores. El análisis de restos de peces de excavaciones antiguas y recientes, basados en teorías y métodos modernos, nos permiten proponer nuevas inferencias sobre las actividades y comportamientos humanos.Fishes were one...
