Kode Etik Jurnalistikdan Sensor Diri di Kalangan Wartawan Pasca Orde Baru di Kota Makassar

The aim of study id to analyze the understanding, attitude, implementation and the implementationefforts of Journalistic Ethics Code as self-censorship by journalisist in the Post-Orde Baru inMakassar. The study is carried out to several journalistis of printed media in Makassar. This is aqualitative research utilizing library and field surveys. The data were collected through observation,deep interviews and documen inspections. The inform ants were determined by snowball samplingtechnique. The data were analyzed using Miles and Hubermans Interactive Model. The result of thestudy indicate that majority of journalistis in the post-Orde Baru in Makassar have a wellunderstanding about some principles like fairness, accuracy, and objecttivity in the journalisticEthics Code. They have positive view toward the principles and agree about the importance inimplementing it. How ever, in fact the principles are not well implemented yet especially about theaccuracy due to some of obstacles faced by journalist when doing their job. Thus, journalists haveto attempt implementing the Journalistic Ethics Code as self-cencordhip throught some effortsbrought by the media, journalist organisation (PWI and AJI), Press Council, and government
