Analisis Spasial Pemilihan Tempat Pertolongan Persalinan Di Kelurahan Sendangmulyo Semarang Tahun 2010

Background: In Semarang, the coverage of profesional delivery attendances was higher than national and smoothly increase. Maternity place and delivery assistance selection are determinant factor MMR.Objective: Identify maternal sociodemographic characteristics by using spatial analysis. Methode: This study is a descriptive observational using Spatial analysis. Population is the maternal birth in 2010 in Sendangmulyo subdistrict. Simple random sampling method to get 73 respondents from with a total of 303 mothers. Variables are the sociodemographic caracteristics (age, education, occupation), decision-making and distance of delivery service base on spatial coordinate of women's residences and health sevices arround Semarang. Result: That most of the respondents were: low-risk age, secondary education, mostly housewives and high-income family, choosed a general hospital as a place of delivering baby. The public hospital was chosen by most respondents to the northwest and beyond the Sendangmulyo subdistrict. Respondents with difference sociodemographic characteristics tend to choose hospital that located in the middle of the city of Semarang. These hospitals are located ben·veen 120 to 12400 meters from the mother's residances.Conclusion: Geographycally, there is no difference choice of maternity place between mothers. However, more high economics status more vary choice of maternity place. Thus, Distric Health Office of Semarang should improve the quality of maternal delivery services wich is closed to residents
