Sistem Distribusi dan Tataniaga Beras yang Efektif dalam Rangka Menjaga Stabilitas Harga di Tingkat Petani dan Konsumen

Rice is a staple food of the major people in Indonesia. The sufficiency of rice availability in national and regional area is very important to support the national food security. Basically, rice problem in Indonesia is depended on rice distribution due to production gap intertime and interregion. This study aims to asses (1) availability and consumption of rice in each province in Indonesia; and (2) optimal rice distribution in Indonesia. Result of analysis shows that at national level, there were 15 provinces were deficit of rice while the rest 18 provinces have surplus of rice at 7.8 million tons in 2009. There was also able to calculate that distribution of rice from surplus to deficit areas was 3.73 million tonnes costed about Rp 1.777 billion.Keywords: rice availability, surplus, deficit, and rice distributio
