Snyder (1985) said built environment has been formed from a process of settlement forming as a functional place which based of human activities pattern as well as setting impact either phisically or non phisically. These impacts will affect activities pattern directly within activities process. Research about Bugis setllement pattern within Kendari has been conducted at ‘kelurahan' Mata and Puunggaloba by using qualitative rationalistic method. Bugis settlement pattern within kelurahan Mata and Puunggaloba has been formed into 2 patterns, linear and grouping. Community within kelurahan Mata and Puunggaloba has used sea or river to decide settlement location, because they believe that sea has an important role in their life
