Kajian Cara Tanam Padi di Lahan Sawah Irigasi Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat Provinsi Jambi

The Assessment of Rice Planting Methods in Irrigated Land in Tanjung Jabung Barat Districts, Jambi Province. One of the problems of irrigated rice farmers in the Jambi Province is a late planting, because labor is limited due to the absorption in the private oil palm plantations. There is the necessary to find the planting system which not require a lot of labor. The purpose of this study was to compare the way of planting rice that is transplanting system, direct seeding drill method (tiles seeded) and direct seeding spread method (spread seeded) on the productivity of rice and income of farmers' in Sri Agung Village, West Tanjung Jabung District, Jambi Province. The assessment was conducted in the irrigated land on the dry season in 2010. The research design was a randomized block design (RBD) with three treatments and four replications and each replication consisted of 0.25 ha. The result showed that the rice yield of transplanting system (7.2 t/ha) did not significantly difference compared to the tiles seeded (6.9 t/ha), however there was difference compared to the spread seeded (5.4 t/ha). The results of the economic analysis showed that the farm income of transplanting system was Rp 9.193.000/ha, while the ways seeded tiles was Rp 9.004.000/ha. It could be concluded that the prospect of wet seeded tiles have to be developed in the areas of labor shortage
