This research aimed to examine the characteristics of rubber compounds using kaolin filler from Bangka Belitung. Research applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 (two) factors, kaolin particle size (50 mesh, 100 mesh and 150 mesh) and amount of kaolin 50 Phr and 60 Phr with 3 (three) replications. Research results showed that particle size and amount of kaolin gave significant effect on characteristics of resulting rubber compound. The best treatment (optimal) is obtained in combination of size 150 mesh and 50 Phr using Babel's kaolin, with compound characteristics hardness 59 Shore A, tensile strength 167 kg/cm2, abrasion resistance 289 DIN (mm3), hardness after aging 57 Shore A, tensile strength after aging 132 kg/cm2
