The aim of this study were to (1) grow students' critical thinking ability by implementing problem based learning model, and (2) describe the application of problem based learning model in an experiment class. The design of this research used non-equivalent control group design. The results showed that (1) problem based learning model had grown students' critical thinking ability, which was proven by the experiment and control class obtained N-gain 0.71 (high category) and 0.55 (medium category), and (2) problem based learning model has been applied in average score 3.82 (good category).
