Culture Shock Experienced By Foreign Students Studying At Indonesian University

This present study was designed to examine the potential culture shocks experienced by foreignstudents in Indonesian university. There were 10 foreign students who responded to the questionnairessent by the writer through BIPA in the foreign students' universities. It was found that there werethree points of academic life that make foreign students experience culture shock. Those are teacher'sroles and attitude; poorly organized program; and the local students' attitude. In social life, thewriter also found that foreign students experienced culture shock in 3 aspects, those are: womenmenrelationship; different way of thinking and different habits
