This study investigates four teachers’ views and approach on teaching literature in the English classroom. The main reason for this study is to give an insight in some different ways of approaching this specific part of the national curriculum. The study is based on four separate interviews. The results are somewhat varied and provide an in-depth understanding of the subject. The study shows that there are different approaches for various reasons. These reasons are not only based in methodology but also personal preference and attitude to the subject.
