This thesis is dedicated to the acquisition of French prosody as an L2 by Mexican Spanish adult learners. The main goals of this research are (i) to clarify wether the interlanguage prosodic rules are constrained by an L1 transfer and (ii) to examine in which measure different mechanisms related to the L2 acquisition process are activated during the learning of the L2 prosody. The study consisted in two different types of experiments: (i) the prosodic analysis of oral productions extracted from a large corpus and (ii) two perception experiments.
