Access to land is essential to develop an agricultural activity. Drawing on field work conducted in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the paper analyzes three trading forms for access to land, based on family, the local socio-professional space or impersonal networks. It shows that the first two are dominant, which restrains access to farming activities for outsiders coming from other social origins and willing to develop sustainable agriculture.L’accès à la terre est une condition indispensable de l’installation en agriculture.
