International audienceWe propose a method to locate, map and analyze the occurrences of places cited in a corpus of 31 novels of the nineteenth century whose action takes place wholly or partly in Paris. The more distant term goal is to build a platform facilitating the cartographic analysis of other texts evoking Paris at the same time. The experienced method combines the use of a textual analysis platform (TXM) and the development of a convenient Geographic Information System supporting a gazetteer of Parisian places between 1830 and 1914 and an interface of geovisualization.
