TiO2 is one of the most widely used metal oxides because of it’s excellent chemical stability in hazardous environments, hardness, high refractive index, and many other remarkable features. Electrical properties of ceramics are affected by their microstructural features and defect structures (such as oxygen vacancies and titanium interstitials). With increasing oxygen deficit, the electrical conductivity increases strongly. The defect structure and related properties of TiO2 are usually deduced from electrical conductivity measurements, assuming that the studied material is an electronic semiconductor .
