Arrival traffic control helps increase the network performance. An admission control scheme based on the traffic parameter measurement has recently become popular. With such systems, one can measure and estimate the arrival traffic parameters in real time and use the obtained values and the given quality of service to dynamically allocate resources of the data communication system. The buffer size and output bandwidth allocated for the particular data flow according to its class of service act as such resources. An analytical model of the packet switched system and a method to find the optimal param- eters of this system are given
