Latvian power system is a deficit. According to prognoses of the “Latvenergo” to 2015 the actual will be a question where and whom to buy electric power. What power and what type of energy resources power plants we need to build and where should be they located – all of this is widely discussed in different articles. The energy department of Latvian ministry of economy has examined some scenarios of power system development. In the 2010 a deficit will be already doubled, and to the 2020 a deficit assumed by 2.5 times more then produced power. In the work it is attempted to analyze development of Latvian power system in the Kurzeme region. There are considered some variants of high voltage network development
