Pictured is the vessel "Algomah II," originally built as "Bainbridge." The “Bainbridge” was built by Rice Brothers Corp. of East Boothbay, Maine, in 1922. She experienced numerous ownership transfers and name changes. From 1922 until 1926, the steel propeller vessel was owned by the Benton Transit Co. of Benton Harbor, Michigan. In 1926, Vern Beckwith (Trustee) (Benton Transit Co., Mgr.) assumed ownership of the vessel for two years. Farmers & Merchants National Bank & Trust Co. (Benton Transit Co., Mgr.) maintained ownership from 1928 until 1930, when ownership was then transferred to Farmers & Merchants National Bank & Trust Co. (Goodrich Transit Co., Mgr.).
