Globalisation and Marzinality : A Sociological Analysis

Globalization is the so-called buzz word used extensively to refer to the socio-cultural and economic processes that have been dominating the current juncture in world history. It has become one of the most debated topics and key area of research among the policy makers, statesmen, corporate, politicians and academia respectively over the past few years. Globalization has been defined in different way. Globalization is not just an economic phenomenon – it also affects cultural, political, social, legal and religious life. Globalization at present (the post-1980 period) has marginalized many cultures across the world. On the other hand globalization influences cultural identity. With the development of science and technology, people are closer than before. They become much more concerned about their cultural identity.
