Exercise is inherently linked with the production of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) resulting in augmented oxidative stress post-exercise. Antioxidant supplements have been proposed to reduce exercise-induced oxidative stress, but this alleviation can potentially negate signalling pathways mediated by RONS.
