Zero energy high rise buildings aim for a more sustainable urban environment, by reducing energy use demand, producing energy from renewable systems, but at the same time maintaining high thermal comfort levels. This research aims to implement a new integrated strategy, by means of an integrated optimization of various design variables of a high-rise building, that will lead to better results than the existing stepped strategies. Final aim is to substantiate the potential of a high-rise office building in Athens, Greece to be nearly zero energy within the current European standards
