Background: Urinary protein-to-creatinine (UPC) ratio is an early diagnostic and prognostic marker of renal disease in dogs. Pyrogallol red molybdate (PRM) and Coomassie brilliant blue (CBB) are the most popular dye-binding assays for measurement of proteinuria.
