Engineers in the manufacturing industries have used accelerated life test (ALT) experiments for many decades. The purpose of ALT experiments is to acquire reliability information quickly. Test units of a material, component, subsystem or entire systems are subjected to higher than usual levels of one or more accelerating variables such as temperature or stress. This paper presents the importance of implementation of accelerated life testing in a product’s life cycle. The case study introduced the concept of accelerated life testing in aerospace by testing 12 helicopter blades. The statistical analysis and data-testing plan were realized using the ALTA 7 software
