Interseções entre turismo e literatura: o olhar turístico na construção do Portugal literário. Desenho da investigação e considerações sobre o corpus

The objective of this paper is to introduce a line of research in development cantered on the relations between tourism and literature. Given the importance of tourism as a contemporary social phenomenon and its relevance in cultural relations, this line of work aims to question the role attributed to literature in tourism materials, as well as the centrality or not of this element and the cultural forms that replace it. The ultimate objective is twofold: to think about the consequences of the tourist phenomenon in culture and in identity configuration; and to analyse the new roles attributed to literature today. The case study focuses on travel guides of Portugal published during the 20th century. In this paper, we present the corpus and offer some deductions on the behaviour of tourism in Portugal during this period.
