Rieske nonheme monooxygenase 3-ketosteroid 9α-hydroxylase (KSH) enzymes play a central role in bacterial steroid catabolism. KSH is a two-component iron-sulfur-containing enzyme, with KshA representing the terminal oxygenase component and KshB the reductase component.
