KEEFEKTIFAN PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN ILMU PENGETAHUAN ALAM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DI SDS ISLAM 040 ALHUSNIYAH PULAU KIJANG RIAU

This study was conducted considering the fact that scientific approach has become one learning method that has garnered much attention of educators ever since Kurikulum 2013 was implemented. Unfortunately, this scientific approach has not been widely practiced in many schools, one which is SDS 040 Alhusniyah Pulau Kijang. This school, concerning its science classroom, generally relies heavily on the typical book-oriented learning procedure. Such approach is notoriously known to lead to monotony and boredom, not to mention its inconsistency with the nature of science. With that said, this study aims to investigate how scientific approach can bring about fun and effective learning activities, help students experience the process of science directly and also boost their motivation to keep learning science. The research was administered in SDS 040 Alhusniyah by adopting a quantitative study in the form of one-group pretest and posttest design. The data was collected by means of interview, observation and questionnaire. Afterwards, the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and parametric statistics. The procured data indeed show several intriguing findings. First, not only does the scientific approach proposed by the government in Kurikulum 2013 affect students’ learning outcomes, but its effectiveness was salient in enhancing students’ learning motivation (t = -14.222; p<0.05) and science processing skill (t = -27.191; p<0.05). It is observable that after the students learn with scientific approach, the means score of their learning motivation and science processing skills in the post-test becomes significantly higher than that of the pre-test. Secondly, conforming to the criteria of effectiveness in competence building based on results, the application of scientific approach is likewise found to be effective to improve learning motivation and science processing skills because a total of 86.7% of the students experience changes regarding these two essential aspects. [INDONESIA] pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang menjadi bahan perhatian pendidikan semenjak kurikulum 2013 dilaksanakan. Namun sayangnya masih banyak sekolah-sekolah yang belum menerapkan pendekatan saintifik. SDS 040 Alhusniyah Pulau Kijang merupakan salah satu sekolah yang belum menerapkan pendekatan saintifik sebagai pelaksanaan pembelajarannya. Pembelajaran sains (IPA) di sekolahan ini masih ditekankan pada konsep-konsep yang ada pada buku, proses pembelajaran dengan cara ini cenderung menghasilkan kebosanan dan kejenuhan dan pembelajaran sains yang dilakukan pun tidak sesuai dengan hakikat sains. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah dimana pendekatan saintifik mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik SDS 040 Alhusniyah sehigga peserta didik terus mau belajar sains (IPA). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDS 040 Alhusniyah dan merupakan penelitian Kuantitatif dalam bentuk Pre-Eksperimen Desain (One Group Pretest-Posttest). Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi,dan Kuesioner (angket). Metode analisis data dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik Inferensial dengan jenis statistik parametrik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) Penerapan pendekatan sainstifik yang di usung oleh pemerintan dalam Kurikulum 2013 ternyata tidak hanya berpengaruh pada hasil belajar peserta didik saja, tetapi juga efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar (t = -14,222 dan p < 0,05) dan keterampilan proses sains( t = -27,191 dan p < 0,05). Karena nilai rerata motivasi belajar dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik setelah dilakukan perlakuan (Post-test) dengan mengunakan pendekatan saintifik memperoleh rerata lebih tinggi secara signifikan dari pada sebelum dilakukan perlakuan (Pre-Test). (2) Menurut kriteria keefektifan berdasarkan kualitas pembentukan kompetensi dari segi hasil, penerapan pendekatan saintifik dapat dikatakan efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan proses sains karena sebesar 86,7% peserta didik mengalami perubahan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan proses sains.
