Abstract

hand serry nI have been given two slightly different definitions of this word. My grandfather, Stephen Welsh told me that it is a wooden slide which is used to pull away rocks when a person is clearing land. [reverse] Usually there are two nunners with a platform land on it to place the rocks on. It is usually pulled by a horse. I was also told by Mr. Harrison Hillier of Greens Hr. that it is a slide or sled sometimes called a [inc] sled and it is used to haul wood when there is no snow on the ground. These sleds do not have shoes on them and there is just a single sled with a beam laid on the runners.YesDICT CEN. DNE-citJW [over]Used IUsed INot usedNfld.
