floater nThe Labrador schooners were small, old and sometimes decrepit. They had no dories, for they acted simply as depot-ships for what was really bay-fishing. The cod running into Labrador fjords to spawn were taken in fish-traps, dried ashore, and brought back in the schooners, which took the fishermen and fish-drie rs along the Labrador coast each season.
