They were not old enough perhaps to get even a quarter of a man's share. They used the method of cutting tails. If there were one boy he would cut the tails of the fish he caught on one side. If there were two boys, one would cut the left side, the other the right. Should there be three boys, the third would cut the tail in the middle. A fourth boy would cut in the middle and on one side.
