collar nIn the spring of the year approximately May 10 was what was called "collar time". We would get da vessels ready to "eave" her down & cork da bottom of "er". All da men from da community would "elp" to "eave" down the vessels. After ya all got em hoved down ya would let er up a bit. Someone would yell out "old her on cause we're goin to let her up a bit."
