In this paper some aspects of DSTOpsilas Illuminator of Opportunity Bistatic Radar research are discussed. Detail is provided about such aspects as transmitter selection and characteristics, experimental configurations, power budget studies and some analysis of two of the transmitterspsila waveform ambiguity functions are provided. Initial results from field experiments demonstrating detections of cars, trucks and an aircraft using a terrestrial digital TV signal are also presented.Palmer J., Merrett D., Palumbo S., Piyaratna J., Capon S. and Hansen H.http://trove.nla.gov.au/work/3188839
