At the beginning, the concentration movement in the central-city was the major trend ; but since World War II, the development of metropolitan areas is the main evolution of urban America. The Concentric Zone Model structured around the influent core of the inner city is quite obsolete : now, the Multiple Nuclei Model shows us the relative demographical, economical and social weakness of central cities.
