International audienceSydney is the largest metropolitan area in Australia with 4,1 millions inhabitants : 20 % of the Australian population. Sydney is a perfect example of a hybrid urban model. On the one hand, the metropolitan morphology is characterised by the low density of housing (property owners) in the suburbs like in North-American cities. On the other hand, the mitigated social polarization and the attractive inner city remind the profile of European cities.
