The important factor affecting the fault location accuracy for close-in faults is the nonlinear dynamic behaviour of an arc. The proposed technique efficiently eliminates the influence of an arc on the distance to fault calculation. The new method is tested through simulation study and using practical fault records. Some representative results are presented in the paper.Zivanovic, R. ; Tlhatlhetji, P. ; Bartylak, A. ; Keller, P
